Stay Central Hotel

As part of my role at Scotsman Group, I led the full redesign of the Stay Central Hotel website, a bold, vibrant hotel in the heart of Edinburgh catering to a younger social crowd. The original site simply didn't reflect what makes Stay Central special. It lacked the playful energy, colour, and personality that the hotel delivers in person, leaving a disconnect between the experience guests could expect and what they encountered online. The design felt flat, the mobile experience was lacking, and the site wasn't doing enough to convert visitors into bookings. For a hotel that thrives on atmosphere and social energy, the website needed to match that spirit and work harder as a booking tool.

The goal was to create a modern, mobile-friendly website that captures the energetic, sociable, and laid-back vibe of Stay Central while improving usability and driving bookings. To better reflect the hotel's personality, I introduced a bright, colour-rich palette and clean typography that balances style with readability. The design leans into bold headings, playful icons, and intuitive layout blocks giving visitors an engaging browsing experience that feels true to the brand.
Built in WordPress using Elementor, the site features fully responsive, flexible content blocks designed to accommodate promotions, group bookings, and seasonal offers. Special attention was given to the Rooms and Stay Café sections, ensuring visitors could easily explore, compare, and book based on their group size and travel style. Every design decision was made with the hotel's target audience in mind, a younger, experience-driven crowd who expect a site that's as fun to navigate as the hotel is to stay in.
