Arta is one of Glasgow’s most atmospheric venues, known for its Mediterranean inspired interiors, tapas restaurant, and popular private hire spaces. As part of my role at Scotsman Group, I led the redesign of the Arta website to better reflect the venue’s elegance, with a clear focus on boosting private hire enquiries and promoting the Tapas restaurant experience. Whilst functional, the original website hadn't captured the romantic and decadent character of Arta, nor did it prioritise the venue’s key revenue drivers. The redesign was an opportunity to reposition Arta as both a premium dining destination and a stunning private hire venue for weddings, parties, and corporate events.

Wordpress | Elementor

I began by researching competitor venues and wider hospitality design trends, looking at how comparable spaces such as boutique hotels, high-end restaurant groups, private event venues that were positioning themselves online. This gave me a clear sense of where Arta could stand out, and what a more premium digital presence should feel like. From there the focus shifted to building a visual language worthy of the space itself. Working in WordPress and Elementor, I developed a design built around deep, moody tones, gold accents, and full-bleed photography which lets the venue's opulent interiors do the heavy lifting. Every design decision was made with atmosphere in mind: the kind of richness you'd expect from the physical experience, translated into something that works on screen. Alongside the visual direction, I restructured the site's navigation and content hierarchy to work harder commercially. A cleaner, more intentional layout now guides visitors naturally toward the venue's key offerings like Private Hire, Weddings, and Tapas Dining, reducing friction and making enquiry a more obvious next step. To keep the build consistent and scalable, I worked with a structured set of reusable components throughout ensuring design coherence across pages while making future updates straightforward for the wider team.
