Bringing Glasgow’s nightlife online into sharper focus
The previous Polo Lounge website contained a huge amount of information, from weekly events and ticketed nights to venue spaces, guest lists, private hire and community initiatives. While comprehensive, the experience made it difficult for users to quickly find what they were looking for, with key booking journeys competing for attention.
The challenge was to create a website that showcased Polo’s bold, recognisable identity without sacrificing usability, while making weekly events and upcoming nights easier to discover. The new experience also needed to give greater prominence to key conversion points, including booth bookings, guestlist registrations and private hire enquiries, while providing the team with a flexible content management system that made updating events quick and straightforward. With a large proportion of nightlife audiences browsing and making plans on their phones, a mobile-first experience was also essential.
