About

The Mayfield Clinic is a private medical and aesthetic practice based in Edinburgh, bringing together a multidisciplinary team of specialists under one roof. The clinic offers a breadth of services—from private general practice and minor surgery to breast surgery and dedicated women’s health—alongside a more considered approach to aesthetic medicine.

The identity was designed to reflect this balance: clinical expertise delivered through a calm, discreet, and patient-focused experience. During my time at Nettl of Glasgow & Edinburgh, I was tasked with designing a premium logo for Dr. Nestor's Mayfield Clinic, which was relocating to a luxurious multi-million pound estate. The client sought a modern logo that would reflect the elegance and sophistication of the new location, alongside a mark icon that would unify the branding.

Branding

Result

The category is visually crowded and often polarised. Private healthcare brands tend to lean either toward sterile, clinical minimalism or overtly cosmetic, lifestyle-led aesthetics.

For The Mayfield Clinic, neither direction was appropriate.

The challenge was to create an identity that could:

  • Reflect medical credibility across multiple specialisms
  • Avoid the clichés of both clinical and cosmetic branding
  • Communicate a premium, highly personalised service without feeling exclusive or impersonal
  • Support a brand that positions aesthetic medicine as part of a broader health and wellbeing offering

The outcome needed to feel measured, intelligent, and quietly confident.
